Description
The image displays three gold stripes on a red background, a design specific to the Marine Corps Blue Dress uniform. These stripes are worn on the outer part of both sleeves. The lowest stripe is aligned with the cuff’s red piping, with each additional stripe placed 1/8 inch directly above it. Because there are three stripes, this Marine has served for 12 years (3 stripes x 4 years/stripe). The green service uniform uses green-on-red stripes instead of the gold ones seen here.
