USMC 3rd 155mm Battery-Khe Sahn Vietnam War.
During the Vietnam War, the 3rd Battalion, 155mm Battery was part of the U.S. Marine Corps. This unit helped defend the Khe Sanh Combat Base during the Siege of Khe Sanh in 1968.
Their job was to provide heavy artillery fire. This type of support is also called “supporting arms.”
The battery helped Marine and Army units defend the base. North Vietnamese Army (NVA) forces attacked the base daily. The 3rd Battalion used artillery and air support to bombard the enemy forces.
